Water and Sewer Project

Northern Township is planning and seeking funding for a critical infrastructure project to install a sanitary sewer system along County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 20 in the Lake Bemidji area. This project aims to address long-standing regional planning goals and environmental concerns related to aging septic systems around the iconic Lake Bemidji.

Incorporation Project

The Northern Town Board has initiated an investigation into the feasibility of Northern Township transitioning into a city. On November 2, 2022, a pair of meetings took place at the Northern Town Hall, providing an opportunity for residents to learn more information about the incorporation proposal and offer their input. A strong majority of Northern Township residents expressed their desire to proceed with the incorporation process.
