On March 2, 2026, the Chief Administrative Law Judge issued an order denying the City of Bemidji’s post-hearing motion for rehearing, reconsideration, amendment, and stay.
This means the Court’s February 10 decision remains in effect – granting Northern Township’s petition for incorporation and denying the annexation petition.
We appreciate the careful consideration the Court has given this matter at every stage.
With this latest order, our community’s path forward remains clear and our work continues on all fronts. The wastewater project is moving ahead, we are preparing for the transition to city operations later this year, and we remain focused on delivering consistent, day-to-day services to our residents.
We also remain genuinely open to constructive discussions with the City of Bemidji at any time. We believe practical, mutually beneficial solutions are worth pursuing, and we are committed to a cooperative approach that serves both communities and this broader region well.
A copy of the Court’s full order is available on our incorporation webpage at: https://www.northerntownship.com/incorporation-news/
We will share updates as appropriate. Thank you for your continued support.
