Wild Plum Rd/Beach Ln Project – 2024/25

Northern Township is advancing road improvements for Wild Plum Road and Beach Lane, a key access route leading into Lake Bemidji State Park. The project will enhance access to major recreational amenities, including the park’s boat landing, public parking area, and the Paul Bunyan State Trail.

The project includes:

  • Reconstruction of the roadway to address poor conditions and ensure long-term durability
  • Drainage improvements to reduce erosion and protect natural areas
  • A buried wastewater utility line installation beneath the roadway, supporting the Township’s broader wastewater infrastructure goals

This route is essential for non-motorized and recreational traffic and supports high seasonal usage by visitors. The improvements will enhance public safety, protect park access, and support future community development in the area.

Funding is being sought through the State Park Road Account, with construction expected to begin after design and permitting are complete.
